For many different reasons people get involved with alcohol, or drugs, or other substance abuse and then find themselves enslaved with no hope of escape. Drug and alcohol addiction can be devastating to individuals and family members. Almost everyone knows someone affected by this insidious disease. Recovery from addiction is possible...there is hope and there is life beyond the pain... and it is found in Jesus.

Jesus answering said unto them, "They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick."
Luke 5:31 (KJV)

We are a body of people who come from a variety of different backgrounds and lifestyles. Many of us have suffered at the hands of alcohol and/or drugs. God has released us from the bonds of these addictions. His grace and mercy are for everyone - no one has strayed too far. God has better things in store for you and His love is everlasting. If you would like more information, please call the church at (334) 365-3060.

The Altar Ministry here at the First Pentecostal Church is comprised of individuals that are filled with the Holy Ghost and who are eager to pray with others that are desirous to receive the same. Whether receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost for the first time or for those who seek to reunite themselves with the Spirit of God, you will find prayerful support and encouragement at the altar, within an atmosphere of heartfelt praise and worship. Our role together with you is to help facilitate a relation ship with Jesus Christ himself. Based on biblical principles of scripture, we acknowledge that a person must first repent of their sins, with a "Godly sorrow", be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of those sins and the result then is the promised infilling of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance or ability.

If you desire to know more about what to expect at a Pentecostal altar or would like to speak to an altar coach, please feel free to contact us at one of the addresses below:

Our bus ministry is a key tool to reaching out and building relationships around the city, with the goal of seeing people saved. Each Sunday a dedicated crew pick up boys, girls, teenagers and families that would not be able to come to church otherwise. It is unique in its ability to provide entire families a way to serve Christ together.

Matthew 19:14: Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." The Bible also says, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23). We realize that some people (especially children) are unable to attend church on their own so every Sunday morning we send buses to pick up people in our area and bring them to church. After church is over, we load up the buses and take everyone back home.

How Much Does It Cost? There is never a charge. The church absorbs all the expenses of this ministry.

How Can I Ride the Bus? Give us a call at (334) 365-3060 or (334) 558-4052 and leave your name and phone number on the voicemail. We will then call you back and get directions to your house. If you call us before 8:30am this Sunday, we can send a bus for you so you can join us this Sunday. We pick up for Sunday School at 8:45 and stay for main service at 10:45. We then leave Church about 12:15 to take you back to your doorstep.

Please give us a call if we can serve your family.

Our Drama program attempts to enhance worship and illustrate spiritual truths. This is sometimes done by portraying life situations which allow us to see the Christian life, with or without words, from different perspectives. We bring the stories that are written about in the Bible to life and show the human factor that we sometimes forget apply to us.

Jesus Himself used drama to reach the people that he ministered to through parables. Drama truly is an effective way to minister to souls. The various stories in the Bible weren't just written for our entertainment, but to teach important life lessons that apply even today. Our goal is to spread the Gospel through creative storytelling and performance ultimately bringing honor and glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

GAP Kidz (Teens Standing in the GAP for their Community)

The GAP (God Answers Prayers) KIDZ are dedicated, even determined to reach the young people of our community with the hopeful promises of our loving Saviour. To introduce them to a relationship with our lovely Creator, and most awesome Father. To teach them of the "reachable" one true God that longs for a personal, intimate relationship with each and everyone of them and how that they can discover that relationship for themselves. To teach them that God loves each of us individually. And above all else, that though God has many, many qualities and attributes, HE loves to laugh most of all. For more information, send an email to the GAP Kidz Ministry.

"Everything on earth has its own time and its own season" Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)

Society tells older persons that retirement means the rocking chair, travel, and no responsibility, and many older persons buy into that stereotype. This means that the lifelong learning, wisdom, skills, and experience of those older persons is lost to society. We, here at First Pentecostal Church, believe in the unique worth of every aging person that life is an ongoing process of growth and change and that the elderly are pioneers of a new era of self-reliance and interdependence. Age brings its own pleasures, including grandchildren (Proverbs 17:6), and is marked by the beauty of gray hair (Proverbs 20:29). A life well lived, that is righteous in the sight of God, gives purpose to our aging. Psalm 92 vividly pictures the righteous elderly, "who flourish like the palm tree . . . in old age they still produce fruit; they are always green and full of sap".

We want to provide a place of welcome, spiritual nurture, and empowerment in ministry to, for, by, and with older adults. We also want to encourage people in their relationship to God and invite them to a new or renewed commitment in Jesus Christ regardless of age or ability. If you are 55 years of age or older, please contact us at (334) 365-3060 and find out more.

The Hands of God was born out of a desire to reach the hearing impaired with the powerful ministry of music. Sign music ministry relates the beauty of music in a language that rivals the sound of music itself. It is a beautiful way to worship God using a language that is generated by the whole being of a person. Heart, mind, soul, and the strength of all. There are very few things more precious than to witness the true worship of God using the completeness of oneself that was given as a gift to us for just that purpose. One of those things that is more precious than witnessing, is experiencing it.

The name "The Hands of God" was inspired by God Himself. During one service, some few years ago, the Lord spoke to our congregation through a Tongues Interpretation. Part of the interpretation was..."If you will be my hands and my feet"...there was a promise of blessing that followed. This is where we arrived at the name "The Hands of God" (1) for the obvious relationship between hands and sign language, and (2) because this is one other way we are attempting to be God's hands and feet. We invite you to come and worship with us! To learn more about this ministry, please email the Hands of God.

"Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so!" The greatest teaching we could ever put into the hearts and minds of our children is that Jesus loves them. He loved them so much he shed his blood for their sins, great or small. That is our desire as leaders in the Children's Church ministry. We want to plant that tiny seed of love for Jesus now while they are young. Then water and nourish it with the Word so that they may grow in their walk with God.

We meet each Wednesday night in classrooms. We usually have a time of praise singing and learning new songs for when our "Kids in the Kingdom" Choir sings. We have a time for sharing the Word through a lesson where you never know which bible character will show up! The kids love to have a chance to be involved by playing a role and that is exactly what we let them do. Kids tend to remember more if they are allowed to take part. For about six weeks we were having each child bring an item the following week that represented the previous week's story. They called it their bible homework. When we stopped, they were asking "When are we going to have homework again?" They enjoyed bringing grapes or bread for the baker and the butler or the silver cup that was found in Benjamin's sack and what about the lock of Samson's hair? If time permits we play a fun bible game or two that helps them to learn and have fun at the same time.

Our children's minds can be so creative for good if we encourage them in that way. You see, we believe that living for Jesus can be FUN! For more information, send an email to the Children's Church Ministry.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

STRUCTURED: 1. To give form or arrangement to 2. To be set in order according to specified conditions or standards

The Structured Youth Group is made up of teenagers during their high school years. The mission of this group is to help teenagers understand their role in the church, the home and their environment. We hope to encourage, enlighten, equip and otherwise develop our youth in their own walk with God. This group of young people is much more than the "church of tomorrow"; they are the Church of Today! Our goal is not primarily to prepare youth for a future ministry as they grow older. Our primary goal is to help our youth seek opportunities to be used in the Kingdom of God today. For more information, send an email to the Structured Youth Ministry.

The psalmist David said, "Thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth." (Ps. 71:5)

Sounds of the Spirit (SOS)

Our church is blessed to have many talented musicians and singers who desire to use their talents for the glory of God. Saints of all ages are involved in our music ministry which we call "Sounds Of the Spirit" or "SOS". We have a Children's Choir (up to age 11), Youth Choir (up to age 18), and Adult Choir. In addition, we have the Chorale, Joyful Praise Band, Hands of God, and many special singers and praise singers. The Hands of God is a unique yet powerful ministry that performs songs through the expression of sign language.

All choirs and special groups sing on a regular basis according to the music calendar which is published monthly. It is amazing how God can use music as an instrument to set the tone of a service or create an atmosphere of praise and worship for us to receive what we need from Him. Time and time again the Lord has used our music ministry to usher in an awesome outpouring of His Spirit! If you are interested in sharing your musical talents for the Glory of God, then email the Music Ministry.

The Lord spoke a very simple parable to his disciples in Luke 19, he said: "therefore, a certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds and said unto them, occupy till I come."

Within this brief conversation with his trusted servants, Jesus outlined His divine will for them on this earth until He returned to set up his kingdom. He called to those who were already close to Him and in essence asked them to come a little closer. Then He gave them everything he knew they would require for the task ahead and left them with this very pointed command: "occupy till I come".

To occupy means: "to seize possession of and maintain control; to engage (the enemy) and to keep busy."

The visitation program is simply one opportunity to obey the command we've been given to occupy, to engage and just to keep busy by reaching out to the many souls in our community. It's an opportunity to meet people at home and out on the street, to establish contact with someone who may have visited one of our services to let them know we genuinely care about them. And in so doing we will hopefully help push back the forces of darkness and bring the presence of the Lord that much closer to every household in Prattville, AL.

If you are a first time visitor to this site we wholeheartedly welcome you and if you are in in the local area we hope you will find the time to come "visit" us…may God bless you richly.

Until He comes…

If you are in the local area of Prattville and would like for us to visit you at home or if you would like more information about this ministry, please send an email to the Souls on Saturday Ministry.
